Allergy Clinic Is It Possible To Still Have Celiac Disease If You Have Tested Negative For A Gluten Allergy?

Is it possible to still have celiac disease if you have tested negative for a gluten allergy? - allergy clinic

A few months ago I had taken a RAST blood test for the following allergens: wheat and gluten. My results came back as highly intolerant of wheat gluten and negative. I wonder if this means that I'm clear where I needed a different criterion to be sure? I want to ask about clinical allergy, but it is a small office and the doctor is always busy. ---- Also I read somewhere that when someone intolerant, can finally go back into his system after a long period of time .. is this true and if so, how long should it be? ---- Thank you:)

If you are not sure whether your intolerance to wheat is a particular problem for the RAST test is that it would be better to move now to a gastroenterologist (digestive system doctor) and talk to them. They specialize in the treatment of a disease of the digestive tract, such as wheat / gluten allergies. If you think this is a celiac disease or wheat allergy, chances are you have an endoscopy, a simple painless test whether the secure and your wheat and gluten problems scrutiny by biopsy of the small intestine and test.

I have many allergies and went to a prestigious hospital that my doctor refers to his suspicions confirmed. It was more than expected, and very little intolerance. I went to an elimination diet, intolerant, elimination of all foods, then slowly a new one in more than two weeks if no response then has the ones.It same with the other slow, but satisfactory, and new exactly what had happened. My son was diagnosed with celiac disease at the Mayo Clinic.
The gold standard for diagnosing celiac disease is a series of blood tests usually give a good idea that you probably have celiac disease but a biopsy of the intestine to see if your villi are damaged. If you can not celiac disease or wheat gluten.

Yes, because it is not celiac gluten allergy in general. It is an intolerance to gluten, and the two are different things. They have similar symptoms, but are very different. I have an intolerance to gluten, but not with celiac disease .... or have an allergy to wheat.

Celiac disease is an allergy. It is a disease, digestion occurs in some people, such as gluten (gliadin really) intolerance to the point that there is damage to the villi of the small intestine when gluten is added. The diagnosis is vital for endoscopy (visualization of the small intestine). There are also blood tests for the initial investigation. Do not play if you think celiac Disasa, you have to do. A diet for life is currently the only treatment.

Even if you have a doctor who can not, why go talk to them.
